About

I am Bethany Martin - an artist, author, and advocate whose work weaves together creativity, storytelling, and a commitment to meaningful change.

My practice has never fit neatly into one box. As an artist, I create across mediums (installations, paintings, and experimental works) that explore identity, resilience, and the spaces between struggle and growth. As an author, I open the pages of my inner world, sharing poetry, drawings, and fragments of lived experience as both memoir and mirror. And as an advocate, I use my voice and my art to spark conversations around mental health, feminism, Canadian Armed Forces veterans, and other causes close to my heart.

This site is an overlook into the many threads that form who I am…artworks that seek to connect, words that aim to heal, and actions driven by the belief that vulnerability can be transformative.

Artist

My visual art practice is rooted in play, exploration, and emotion. From immersive installations to bold paintings and experimental works, I use art as a way to question, reflect, and connect. This is where I translate lived experience into imagery that speaks beyond words.

Author

Writing has always been my constant—poetry, diary fragments, drawings, and stories woven into a raw, unfiltered voice. As an author, I share the truths I once kept hidden, crafting books that hold space for vulnerability, healing, and the reclamation of voice.

Advocate

Advocacy is inseparable from my art and writing. Whether amplifying conversations around mental health, standing alongside veterans, or fundraising through creative projects, I use my platform to spark dialogue and support change. For me, art is both expression and action.

Art, writing, and advocacy are more than what I do — they are ways of inviting others to reflect, to feel, and to rise together.
