Beth Martin
Artist • Writer • Community Creative
Beth Martin is a Canadian multidisciplinary artist, writer, and creative facilitator whose work explores storytelling, identity, resilience, and the transformative power of creativity. Working across painting, poetry, photography, installation, and community engagement, her practice invites people to reconnect with curiosity, imagination, and authentic self-expression.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mount Allison University (2010) and a Master of Contemporary Art from Oxford Brookes University in England (2014), where her research explored socially engaged art and contemporary creative practice.
Beth is the author of the poetry collection Unshackled, an intimate exploration of healing, personal growth, and finding one's voice. Alongside her writing, she has exhibited artwork in galleries, festivals, and public art initiatives, including large-scale installation projects and community-engaged works throughout Nova Scotia.
Her artistic practice has evolved to embrace a wide range of mediums, from oil painting and illustration to digital storytelling and creative experiences designed to foster connection. Whether painting in her studio, creating handmade keepsakes, or facilitating collaborative art projects, Beth believes creativity is one of our most powerful tools for building community and belonging.
Now based in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Beth is co-creating Curious & Kind × The Creative Cavern alongside fellow artist Wake—a growing vision dedicated to cultivating spaces where people of all ages can create, play, connect, and rediscover the joy of making.
